No Four, Again - For the third game in a row the Eagles got almost zero offensive production from their power forward spot on the floor. Although Connar Tava was the games leading rebounder (9), he scored only two points. A.J. Turner struggled to find his jump shot again as he finished the night 0-for-4 from the floor for zero points. All of Turners attempts were 3-pointers. Boston College was forced to thrust reserve Ervins Meznieks into the game to try and get something from the position. Meznieks does provide great energy off the bench and a consistent ability to make the open 3-pointer, but he struggles to defend ACC level forwards and compete on the glass down low with them. As soon as Tava checked out in the first half after controlling the defensive glass, Meznieks came in and promptly gave up two offensive rebounds to Pitt's Michael Young. Between the three of them, BC got just six points from their power forward position in Wednesday nights loss to Pitt.

Free Throw Struggles - Boston College fans hoped this was long gone. But the Eagles free throw woes reared its ugly head once again and cost BC a real chance to have a chance to win the game late. This was a common reoccurring theme for this team early in the year all the way up until ACC play began. In Wednesday nights 83-72 loss to Pitt, Boston College shot a lowly 57-percent from the line. They only attempted 14 free throws the entire night, making just 8 of them. As mentioned earlier, Pitt shot 29 free throws and hit 22 of them.
